A few questions, answered.
From your first demo to day-to-day conversations: understand the knowledge controls, website setup, team workflow, and planned allowances.
Getting started
What does WebotX do?
WebotX turns approved information from your website into a visitor-facing AI chat assistant. You review its knowledge, test answers, customize the widget, and manage conversations from the dashboard.
Can I try WebotX without an account?
Yes. Enter a public website URL to try the demo without signing up. It captures up to four eligible pages and provides up to ten AI replies. Create an account to manage knowledge and set up a published widget.
Is the demo a live copy of my website?
The landing-page preview is a static snapshot. The WebotX chat bubble is interactive and answers using the pages captured for that demo. The preview does not run your website's checkout or other interactive site features.
What should I prepare before setting up?
Use a publicly accessible website with current information about your business. Identify the pages you want the assistant to use, prepare common visitor questions for testing, and make sure you can add a custom script to your website.
Knowledge and answer quality
How does WebotX learn my business?
WebotX captures public website pages and drafts a business overview and page summaries. You review the drafts, correct details, include or exclude sources, and approve the knowledge that should be available for answers.
Do website changes automatically become approved answers?
No. Newly captured or refreshed knowledge stays in draft until it is approved. Review changed policies, prices, and service details before making them available to the assistant.
Can I add documents as well as website pages?
Starter, Pro, and Business include document allowances. Upload the file types offered by your workspace and review the resulting knowledge before approval. Supported formats depend on the available document-processing tools.
Can the assistant get an answer wrong?
AI answers can be incomplete or incorrect. Test important questions, keep approved sources current, and check source links. WebotX uses handoff when approved evidence is missing or a visitor needs a person; your team should review important enquiries.
Website installation
Will it work with my website builder?
The widget uses a JavaScript installation snippet. It can work with common website builders and custom websites that allow custom scripts. Your builder's plan or security settings may affect where you can install it.
What must I approve before publishing?
Approve the business overview and at least one included website page. Review the remaining publishing checks in Install widget, configure the allowed origins, and test the installed widget on your website.
What is an allowed widget origin?
An origin identifies the protocol, hostname, and port of a website. Add the exact origins where the widget will run. For example, https://example.com and https://www.example.com are different origins.
Can I change the assistant's appearance?
Yes. The chatbox designer lets you adjust the greeting, colors, avatar, launcher, position, and suggested questions. Use the preview to check the appearance and the simulator to test actual answers.
Conversations, leads, and teams
What happens when a visitor needs a person?
The conversation can be handed to your team when a visitor asks for human help or approved evidence is missing. Staff can read the message history and reply in the dashboard. A handoff does not guarantee an immediate staff response.
Can WebotX collect leads?
You can configure contact collection and review leads alongside the original enquiry and contact permission. Pro and Business also support custom lead fields and webhooks. Set up the fields and follow-up process that suit your business.
Can I invite teammates?
Pro and Business include team seats. Assign people to the workspaces they need and use roles to control access. Free and Starter are for an owner without additional team members. A person assigned to several workspaces uses one seat.
Can it look up private orders or customer accounts?
A website-based assistant does not automatically have access to private order systems, customer accounts, or payment records. It answers from approved knowledge. Route account-specific requests to your team instead of treating general website answers as a private account lookup.
Plans and usage
Are paid plans live?
Pricing is a preview. Sandbox checkout is available for testing in the app; live payments are not enabled. Review the current membership screen and production billing status before relying on a paid subscription.
Is the token allowance per workspace?
Monthly AI tokens are shared across all workspaces in the account. Website and document analysis, AI input, and AI output use that allowance. Page and document limits are per workspace.
How many conversations does a token allowance cover?
There is no fixed conversion from tokens to conversations. Longer questions, longer replies, more context, and source analysis use more tokens. Choose a tier using your actual usage rather than assuming a guaranteed number of chats.
Which plan should I start with?
Use the no-signup demo to test the idea, then Free for a small evaluation. Starter adds documents and monthly refresh for a solo owner. Pro adds team collaboration and multiple workspaces. Business provides larger shared allowances and daily refresh. All listed prices remain a preview.
